A MAN will appear in court next month charged with a number of offences following a police raid at a bar and tanning salon on Canvey.
Officers raided Charlies Bar and State of the Art Tanning on Long Road on March 16 and arrested five people.
Three people were cautioned after admitting to possessing Class A drugs while one woman was issued with a caution after admitting to possessing Class B drugs.
A 47-year-old man from the island has been charged with three counts of being in possession of an offensive weapon and one count of being in possession of a weapon for the discharge of a noxious liquid.
He has been released on bail before his appearance at Southend Magistrates Court on June 11.
