Bouncy Stonehenge in Southend not set up until this afternoon

A BOUNCY version of Stonehenge will be in Priory Park today as part of Olympic Games celebrations.

Sacrilege, designed by artist Jeremy Deller, is a lifesize inflatable replica of the famous monument, in Wiltshire, which has toured the UK as part of London 2012 Festival.

It was due to be in the park from 10.30am until 6pm but it will now be available from 2pm until 6pm after a crew from the company setting up the attraction did not arrive.

To apologise, the company have agreed to allow the inflatable to be in the park all day tomorrow (Thursday) as well.

Well I have said all along that if SBC were in charge of the actual Stonehenge they would have moved it to the end of the pier, I stand corrected, they're playing chinese puzzles - move Stonehenge to Priory Park and move the Saxon King to the seafront, what next, Big Ben outside the Council offices to replace the clock; surely somebody in the Council has something better to do.

Before anyone monas that it should have been here for the weekend the council had no choice mid week or not at all, its a touring attraction so you are told when it is avalable and give a yes or no.

I would have gone on it today (day off work) but after a gut buster fry up (double everything!) a single bloke wooping for joy whilst bouncing about like a nutter on speed then honking up his guts would not have gone down too well!
