A man escaped with minor injuries after his car overturned and hit a tree in The Fairway, Leigh.

Fire engines from Leigh and Rayleigh used specialist cutting equipment to free the man from the 4x4.

He was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

walked past the aftermath, looks like the land rover took down a tree and a telephone pole too as there was 2 BT guys looking in the whole and the smashed telephone pole lying on the verge, must have been doing some speed as it was on a relativly straight piece of the road. glad driver is ok though :)

The original report said 6 police cars and 2 fire engines.
Fortunately minor injuries, but does seem an awful lot of resources for a one car crash.

Yep. 84 year old Mrs Mablethorpe of the Fairway reported smoke and that one of the drivers "looked like a terrorist because his eyes were too close together. That's how you tell y'now according to the guild"

It became a full scale incident and the Fairway was shut for 8 hours allowing the emergency services to erect their bouncy castles and playtents ....

WHY is this story stilll on the woefully botched website.
It was a traffic collision 10 (Ten, yes 10) days ago.
For god sakes sack whoever is in charge of anything approaching you I.T. department and get into the 21st century.
