Appeal after attempted mobile and wallet robbery

A witness appeal has been launched after a gang tried to rob two men in Southend on July 1.

Between 1.30am and 2am, three men approached the pair in Clarence Road before threatening them and demanding their mobile phones and wallets.

Despite the threats, the would-be crooks made off with none of the items they demanded.

One of the trio is described as white, about 6ft 4ins tall, aged between 22 and 28, of muscular build with spiked brown hair and an Essex accent.

Another member of the gang is described as white, between 5ft 6ins to 5ft 9ins tall with short cropped black hair and a tattoo on his neck.

A description of the third suspect is not available at present.
