Firefighters tackle house blaze in Southend

A FIRE broke out in the ground floor of a house in Southchurch Avenue, Southend this afternoon (Monday).
Firefighters from Southend were inundated with calls from sunbathers along the beach who saw smoke billowing from the building in Albion Villas just before 3pm.
Wearing breathing apparatus crews used one hose reel jet to put the fire out within half an hour.
