Man charged with rape remanded in custody

A MAN has been remanded in custody after appearing in court charged with raping a woman in an underpass in Basildon.
Curtis Pizzey, 23, of Barnard Close, Basildon, was charged with the rape of the 18-year-old in Cranes Farm Road on May 14 on Friday last week.
He appeared at Southend Magistrates’ Court on Saturday and was remanded to appear at crown court on October 15. He did not enter a plea.
