E-fit released in hunt for Rayleigh burlgar
Detectives are hoping the release of an efit of a man thought to have carried out a burglary with accomplices in Rayleigh will lead to his arrest.
A knife-wielding man broke into a house on High Road shortly after midnight on Friday, July 20 and was confronted by one of the occupants who challenged him, forcing him to run off. Dog handlers carried out a search of the area, but to no avail.
Investigating Officer, Dc Karen Miller, said: "We have examined CCTV which shows five men loitering near to the scene of this crime. We believe this efit is one of the men – the one who threatened one of the occupants of the house with a knife. Unfortunately, the CCTV image does not help identify any of the men.”
The assailant pictured is described as white, in his early 20s and was wearing a blue top.
Anyone with information in connection with this burglary is urged to contact detectives at Southend police station on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
