Is the end in sight for Sadlers Farm roadworks?

Is the end in sight for Sadlers Farm roadworks? Is the end in sight for Sadlers Farm roadworks?

THE final phase of work to finish the notorious Sadlers Farm junction will start from Monday.

But some residents could be left facing late nights as some of the work could go on until as late as 11pm.

Surfacing and carriageway lining will begin from Monday to put in the final road surfacing and install markings.

From Monday contractors will work from 8.30pm to 6am, but Essex County Council said that the noisiest part of the works will be finished by 11pm each night to cause minimum disruption to residents.

Sections of the roundabout will also be closed while the work is carried out.

The first closure for the works will be on the A13 Benfleet entry onto the roundabout on Tuesday 30 and Wednesday 31 October with motorists diverted via Canvey Way on the A130.

From Monday October 29, Romsey Road will be closed for one night with motorists’ diverted via Homefields Avenue and, on Monday November 5 and Tuesday November 6, Canvey Way on the The surfacing is expected to be finished by Mid November but the overall beleaguered £63millon project, which is now nine month’s behind schedule, will still not finish until January next year.

Once the surfacing is complete, the council’s contractor Birse will have to carry out landscaping around the improved junction and tidy up the area

I could be wrong, but judging by the state of Sadlers Farm over the weekend, it looks as though the work has already re-commenced, so that surely makes the first paragraph redundant?

PS - if work is going to carry on until 11pm, then that's good as surely it will finish on time (hopefully).

Yes - but this is purely regarding the re-surfacing and markings.

This means that Sadlers Farm is probably still not running at full capacity which means the traffic measuring going on in Hadleigh is probably still not accurate. I hope the planners take this into account just as they should bargain on traffic levels rising naturally over the years.

The work at Sadlers Farm will not be complete until January 2013.

There is a lot more to do yet.

You are not joking. Just look at the level of work going on between the Fairglen Interchange and Sadler's Farm Roundabout itself. More lies from ECC Highways Department when they implied as work was stopped for the Olympics that only cosmetic finishing was outstanding. I do not class digging up and relaying carriageways as cosmetic.
