Emergency services were called to The Broadway at about 4pm on Wednesday night after a man was slashed across the face at the stop opposite Subway.
The man, aged in his forties, was taken to Basildon Hospital by paramedics for treatment for facial injuries.
His condition is not life threatening.
The suspect has been identified to police officers who are today making efforts to arrest him.
