A 28-YEAR-OLD has been charged following a knife-point robbery on a train.
Denver Clift of Brennan Road, Tilbury, was charged with robbery and threatening a person with a bladed article in a public place following an appeal in the Thurrock Gazette.
It follows an incident on a train between East Tilbury and Tilbury Town railway stations on Wednesday, November 19.
Clift was charged by British Transport Police on Thursday, February 12.
He was remanded in police custody and appeared at Basildon Magistrates’ Court on Friday February, 13.
He was also charged by Essex Police for two unrelated offences.
Following the public appeal, a woman was also identified.
She was interviewed by officers but no further action is being taken.
Detective Constable Sally Everett said:“I would like to thank local media for publicising this appeal.
“I would also like to thank the members of the public who came forward with information.”
