CCTV images have been released of a man wanted in connection with an assault at Benfleet railway station.
A 67-year-old man suffered cuts and bruises in the attack on August 31 and required hospital treatment.
Detective Constable David Bishop, investigating, said: “Who is the man in the beanie hat? That’s the question I need the public’s help in answering.
"We need to speak to him about the events of that day, as we believe he has important information about what happened.
“If you know who he is, or have any further information which could help, please get in touch with BTP as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40, or text 61016, quoting reference E/B7 of 11/09/15. Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
