BASILDON’s former top cop has been commended for bravery after dealing with violent revellers at an illegal rave.
Simon Dobinson was the town’s chief inspector until just weeks ago.
He and several other officers from around the county will be honoured for their bravery at a commendation ceremony tomorrow.
Chief insp Dobinson was one of a team of officers called to deal with the rave at a field in Great Chesterford on Friday August 25 2006.
