Broadcasters forced to hand over Dale Farm footage

BROADCASTERS, including the BBC, ITN and Sky News, have been forced to hand over hours of footage of the Dale Farm evictions.
Police took all of the news outlets to court to gain a production order, forcing them to hand over hours of film taken during the site clearance in October last year.
Despite challenging the production order a judge said all of the broadcasters had to hand over hours of unused footage take at the illegal site in Oak Lane, Crays Hill.
Police sought to obtain the footage on the grounds that it would help them detect crimes committed during the evictions, including assaults on several police officers.
