Updated: Taxi driver stabbing: Man arrested

A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of robbing and stabbing a taxi driver.
The 26-year-old Basildon man was arrested on suspicion of robbery and has been bailed.
The 31-year-old man had picked up two men from Olwyk in Vange at 11pm on Friday.
He dropped them at Redgrave Road, also in Vange, but as they got out of the cab the men were joined by two others.
They stabbed the driver before trying to steal his takings.
Fortunately the driver was not seriously hurt but detectives are now investigating.
