Homes coming to a field near you?

THE Echo can today reveal the swathes of green belt land which could be built on across Basildon. Council officers have drawn up a list of sites where homes could go to meet projected population rises by 2031. It comes after the council launched a public consultation over the number of new homes needed over the next 20 years. The council would prefer not to build on green belt, but has had to draw up where it would build if necessary. Sites vary from just one house on land between Lee Chapel Lane and High Banks, Langdon Hills, to up to 2,275 over 291 acres of green belt off Pound Lane, Bowers Gifford. The list includes the controversial 127 acres of green belt at Little Chalvedon Hall, off Pound Lane, Bowers Gifford, bought by Nottinghamshire County Council last January for £4.2million, where it wants to build 1,300 homes as a pension fund investment. A public backlash has led to a promise from council leader Tony Ball it would not be built on for at least 20 years. Mr Ball said: “The fact a site is in the list does not mean it will be developed. “This is not a policy document, but something all councils have to do. “Our preferred option is for no green belt development.” Officers whittled down from 480 to 78 possible development sites submitted by landowners and developers for consideration from 2007. Residents are being consulted over three house building targets, but the council has said its preferred option is 6,500 homes being built with none in the green belt. But residents are being asked to consider a second option of 10,100 homes with 3,300 in the green belt and a third, more radical plan, of 21,600 homes with 14,100 on green belt.

BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT, The Basildon council are against people residing on GREEN BELT LAND! Didn't they just commit themselves to £30,000,000 to move people off disputed GBL!

Another thing the taxpayer might be asking is, when did BBC become aware they were going to have to build on GBL, since october last year? Within 4 months

In the words of Johnny Rotton of the Sex Pistols "ever feel you've been had?"

The great Green Belt swindle!

Iv noted the correct spelling and stand corrected but would ask does this correct spelling provide the answer to who killed Bambi?

I did of course mean "'ever get the feeling you've been cheated?' i just paraphrased, i do that when singing their songs as well 'Anarchy in the Uk' often comes out as 'Amnesty in the UK' and 'Pretty vacant" becomes Pretty fey...well we will leave that one shall we.

But in the words of one of their songs "Never trust a chippie" (something to do with Malcolm's wooden stairway being bodged)

Wow, what's Billericay Dickie going to say about all this then?

Surely Wickford isn't getting preferential treatment from Tony?

I'm sure somebody last year said "NO building on the "greenbelt" FULL STOP.

Sorry about the shouting. It wasn't me who said it.

Will Tony think of Len when he picks upo his award at Westminster on the evening of the 27th?

It looks like Len already has preferential treatment: he's even been allowed to build a big gate on other peoples' land.

There again, nobody has clearly defined the demarcation line of the so-called "greenbelt" around Oak Lane, so it's all a bit confusing for ordinary mortals.

lots more days yet to be attended in court. New plans submitted, Basildon with a build on GBL list, dog homes given the go a head, inspectors ordering sites to be produced, all harbingers of good times for DF and Travellers. Lost a battle but look like winning the war

Thank you.

Still the new homes owners will be paying Council Tax to BDC.

Do you Mincy pay Council Tax to BDC? A simple Yes or No will sufffice.

Isn't it strange that you started asking yes and no questions when minceir was removed from the forum for challenging racial abuse? Do you work for the Echo or have People you know who do? A simple Yes or No will suffice. Gannet will be able to tell anyway.

according to the bods doing the presentation in Eastgate for the proposed redevelopment of the town centre they've reduced the amount of residential units in the proposal by two thousand as people are complianing that there's too much housing being built.

This will undoubtedly, unfortunately, put more pressure on green spaces and green belt development as the council seem desperate to build a large amount of housing regardless of hat the general public think.

I am of the opinion that the more residential units can be built on 'brownfield' sites like the town centre area the less pressure there will be on the dwindling green spaces.

If (I know it's a big if, but) the choice is ours get down to the presentation, fill in a comment sheet and ask that more residential units be included in the town centre redevolpment - after all there's a plethora of empty retail units or ones filled for the moment by short leases so it's fairly obvious they don't need to build extra ones and could do with concentrating the retail section accordingly.

The resultant space freed up by this lack of need for retail is a prime candidate, in my opinion, for more reidential places.

Me? No I do not work for the Echo..my typographical errors are entirely the result of FFS. Fat Finger syndrome.

All I was asking is if Mincy pays CT to BDC. Yes or No. Seeing as he's been gloating over how much his lot have wasted of our CT money. He didn't appreciate that at all. Nor the fact that the CT has been frozen for a few years in a central government deal. Most unhappy about that he was.

I suspect he doesn't pay it anyway. He did cryptically imply he pays some tax. I suggested that, THAT could possibly be just be that he paid VAT on a Snickers bar he purchased from Tesco. It needed clarification.

I was VERY specifically asking him about his payment of Council Tax to the one local authority. I've asked him the same question now on FOUR threads. He's responded just the once and very off topic.

I just needed a Yes or a No.

Continued prevarication on Mincy's part just suggests what most suspect.

The said poster was removed from the forum as it the way with those who confront and challenge the criminal activity on here. But i do know minceir and he does indeed pay council tax and other taxes that he is required to do. Do you? You needed an answer and you have one. Why did you feel the need to ask and on FOUR threads? Just what was the need?

Back on topic, It is mused the council might factor in Traveller needs if they duplicate plans from across the country the new housing development might have small Traveller sites beside them. This might deal with the issue of providing sites and of course nimby complaints. Neighbours will all move in at the same time-ish

You know Minceir? He confides his tax situation to you. That IS interesting. What a close relationship you must have.

Then why the reticence to say that he was gloating over CT when he himself was part of the reason why it was going to (in his mind) increase? Which it isn't. I still find it hard to credit that he had 'a dog in the race'. such a postion as Mincy's isn't very logical I'm sure you will agree. It's like celebrating because you just got a parking ticket. Duh!

As to confronting criminal activity? I only know about such criminality from what I read, such as breach of the laws concerning planning and subsequent contempt of court (too soon?). Contempt of Court is very serious indeed is it not? Yes I'm anticipating some very interesting cases coming up and soon.

But you say there's criminals here? What laws have they broken? Can you cite examples?

By any chance are you about to cite a case and claim legal precedent from a Magistrates Court perchance?

Because as you well know Legal Precedent can and is NEVER set from a Magistrates court.

We move in the same circles and are good friends so no mystery to be honest.

Its clear the council tax will at some time bear the weight of the Farm but that is for the future. But till then opinion will have to suffice.

Of course breaching planning acts/law isn't criminal, ignoring court judgements can be. It must be remembered that Basildon council at this time stand accused of the latter. But again time will tell if they are indeed guilty of such.

legal precedent is really not in the equation. But a precedent is! I think you might be getting bogged down in regards to the 'legal' part of the issue. if we are talking about the same thing, a conviction in a magistrate's court for something that have never been tested before is indeed a precedent, in that it exists to be given as example. For instance if you were convicted of jumping out of a tree and frighenting pigeons and were convicted of such in a magistrate court and then someone else was charged with that and that persons defence was it wasn't a crime, the prosecution can point to the conviction as proof it actually is and someone was indeed convicted of it! It therefore becomes a precedent but of course not a legal precedent.

Nice take but legally inaccurate.
I saw My BFGW the other night and by your logic Channel 4 'broke the law' about thirty six times in an hour.
OK - so go take on Channel 4 then.

Let me tell you the future. You'll have your multitude of days in court.

Eventually you'll lose.

Your lawyers will get rich at everyone's expense.

You'll be bankrupted.

You'll be found in contempt of court, declared a vexatious litigant and your families will be (even more) homeless and destitute whilst the heads of the families will be jailed for contempt.

Bas Dist Council will still be in existence.

Ultimately you'll (and BDC) will achieve nothing but enrich two sets of lawyers.

Those that don't end up inside will leave Bas.

If you cannot see that is the future well I'm sorry but your wishes are clouding your common sense.

It will all end badly.

Pretty sad state of affairs imo.

Interesting post. Point by point?

BFGW is as much to do with the vast percentage of the 360,000 'Travellers' in the UK as Big brother has to do with the majority of society! You will always get people of the calibre you advertise for. Im not sure how C4 is thought to have broken the law but id be interested to hear.
Im sure your opinion of the future might be how you see it but we dont always get what we want or id be living in bermuda somewhere.

I believe most of the legal work is being carried out on a pro bono basis.

Im not sure where the contempt of court has come into this. No one is facing such a charge!

I dont think there is much of a chance of being declared a vexatious litigant as there are of course more than one person applying and the appeals and cases are a bit different than the norm.

I dont know how a person can be more homeless than being homeless but its an interesting thought.

BDC were it seem in the process of drawing up a list of GBL that could be developed when they were planning the DF eviction!

The people of DF have proven clearly they are not for leaving Basildon, why should they, many were born there!

I think maybe your future is a little bit doom and gloom-ish, understandably of course, but the council will provide sites in the area, DF people will be on those sites and the future might reveal just what a waste of time and an incredible amount of money it all was.

Thanks for the interest but my futures really great thanks.
I was taking a step back and looking at yours and from my pov your's is simply dreadful. You have no future.

If you want to carry on enriching parasitic lawyers hey it's your call.

I'm self censoring here but 'The P word'. Thirty six times in one hour on Ch4. OBVIOUSLY you didn't count them. I did. So when do you sue them? Selective prosecution Mi Lud! Case dismissed!

The obvious contempt of court is of course moving back onto DF. It's blatent, obvious and just around the corner.

Incidentally there are no scoff laws in the UK. you can't say 'oh well thats just a bit of planning law' I'll break that nobody will mind. Don't work like that. Eventually it' catches up with you. Karma! Ask Ali Dizaei about special exemption from the law based on so called racial grounds next time you meet him.

I wasn't really taking about your future but the future you were spelling out for people off Dale farm. If you think their future is 'dreadful' then of course time will tell if you are correct. And of course 'dreadful' for one is wonderful for another.

I think it has been stated that the legal people dealing with these issues are working pro bono which enriches no one.

If C4 were referring to people in a racial way they would be challengeable but if they film people doing that they of course are not guilty of using the term.

I watched the programe and must say i didn't hear the term once being used by members of the public. I might of missed it once or twice but not 36 times.

I would say people would have recourse to the law first in regards to racial abuse rather than private summons.

The DF people havent moved back onto Dale farm because they never left, as you may be aware DF is made up of two parts, the 'legal' side and the unoccupied side. The people are either on the 'legal side' or on the private road (owned by a community member) they are not on the unoccupied side although 4 plots there which could be occupied but are being wilfully and illegally blocked by Basildon council. hense court case. if you Driveway was blocked by BC so you couldn't access it wouldn't you resort to law?

The issue is, planning acts are not law so no law broken.

Karma of course means 'acts' suggesting good acts allow for a better life and future life and bad the opposite. Then there is the case of what is a good act or bad one!

People ignoring orders to leave their land on which they have their home's might be considered a bad act by some thereby in their opinion 'bad karma' many more might think its those making the people leave their land and homes who are committing the bad act and inviting bad karma. Swings and Roundabouts!

I have met Ali Dizaei probably less times than you, having never met him or want/need to meet him but you do mention him quite often so you might be acquainted with him.

Im not sure what he has to do with DF or Basildon council having a list of GBL that can be developed. Have you no questions in regards when did they become aware they were going to draw up this list, when did they actually draw the list and was it sensible to draw up a list for developing on GBL while spending an obscene amount moving people off GBL.

Maybe Ali D might know
