In my day, if you could find time after helping Mum to do the washing up, you would sit down with the rest of the family after sunday lunch and have a game of scrabble, monopoly or snakes & ladders. The police were armed with nothing more than a whistle and a wooden truncheon but the papers still managed to publish a good story !
