Basildon Labour group honours latest victim of Afghanistan conflict (From Echo)

My thoughts go out to this mans family.. Any person that dedicates their life for this country are wonderful brave people.... How about as respect for this mans family by stopping you 2 faced Labour Councillors in Pitsea and Vange not giving council houses to Afgans in Redgrave Road and surrounding areas. Thats like chucking their best wishes in the faces of the poor family that lost a family member.

Terry2 you are a discrace using this young mans death to make moronic comments about an issue you are totally wrong about no Labour Councillors or any Councillors of any political group gives council houses to afgans . Anyone who can afford to can buy or even rent from a private landlord regardless of who or where they come from. Get the facts right before you decide to post such untrue comments.

To the best of my knowledge Labour have not been in power in Billericay (Basildon sub district) for some years now. And even when they were they had no power to allocate council accommodation to any particular racial grouping. That's the trouble with right whingers like Terry2, strong on bile and hatred and low on intelligence and reason.

I would just like to express my thanks and my gratitude to this man's family for the loss they have suffered on our behalf.Whatever the motive for sending our lads out there, it is still our lads doing a job I hope MY lads never have to do!

As stated 419 men woman and kids have died in Afghanistan and the labour councillors are housing these people that bomb torture and terrorise our soldiers, my son as you must know has had 3 bouts of Afghanistan and and Im glad he now is in Germany . There are 3 Afghan families in vange, redgrave road houses 2 and North crockfords one family Thet have been here in Basildon since March. Terry2 and 3 it is entirely possible that persons of afgan heritage live in Redgrave Road but they would not have been housed by Basildon Councillors. You can say it as often as you like and if you want to you can believe it but a lie is a lie. As for Cllr Callaghan shame on him too using this young mans death to get his name in the paper. He and his type self serving hypocrites are the reason I no longer vote.

Sorry but my mistake, i thought the councilors made rules and regs to the council as they are in local government and sit at parliament to make rules regs and what and how the council runs.. thanks for explaining. i agree with your response to callaghan.

No Political Points to make, no rights or wrongs for heavens sake.

He served us and gave his life for me you and anyone that believes in freedom and the prevention of cruel heartless and godless people who want to train in methods to kill us for no reason other than we allow women to be free and we allow democaracy for all and we allow people the right to live in a civilized world.
This young man gave his life trying to protect us and stop those godless morons from exporting their beliefs,thoughts and evil actions to our shores and beyond.
For that I thank this young man who did not die in vain. s did the victims of 9/11 and others.
My thoughts are with his family who will never recover from the loss of a brave and special son.

Hi Terrys, can understand your anger but those families may also be running from the horrors of that country. Many Afghanis welcome the West's intrusion and work with our forces. That said I think it is a futile task, a waste of young life and a cynical exercise to destabilise the region

Agreed the politics should deffo not be used in this. Especially since Labour govt took us into this and the Iraq conflict.

My sympathies are with the families of those affected not the utter criminal idiots and fools who got us into these wars.

TW, it is easy to lose a bit of perspective if your son is at risk. It is sometimes difficult to differentiate between a country's policies and the individual citizens. There are decent people of all nationalities even if our government chooses to invade them. I'd like to see the USA fight its own battles

The funny thing is I agree with everything you say about Blair and the dossiers but do you believe for one minute that Hague, Duncan Smith or Howard would have done anything different?
