Comic illustrator exhibits work at library

1:00pm Friday 3rd July 2009

A children’s comic book illustrator will exhibit his work at Billericay Library.

Colin Wyatt has been an illustrator for more than 50 years, working on early children’s comics such as Tiny Tots, Jack and Jill and Playhour.

He later produced covers and posters for many Disney books and comics, and in 1985 created the visual concept for the Poddington Peas, which later became an animated series shown regularly on BBC television.

He has illustrated dozens of well-known characters from Noddy to Thomas the Tank Engine and also uses his talent for animal studies for ceramic plate designs and greeting cards.

The exhibition at the library will be from Monday, July 13, to August 13.

Mr Wyatt will also be sharing his artwork techniques and tips in workshops taking place in the Children’s Library on July 22, July 30, August 4 and August 13.
