A DRIVER had to be rescued from his van when he got trapped in flood water.
Firefighters from Billericay, Ingatestone and Grays used a fire boat to reach the man trapped in more than three feet of water at Buttsbury Wash, Buttsbury Road, in Billericay at about 5.10pm today.
A spokesman for the fire service said: "This is a notorious hazard during wet weather and fire officers continue to warn motorists of the dangers. Drivers continue to travel through the ford despite the warnings, putting their own lives and those of their rescuers at risk."
