A DISABLED woman was left distressed after a thief in a distinctive car stole her handbag while she was delivering Christmas cards.
A man stole the woman's black leather handbag containing a Fiorelli purse and cash, phone, bank cards, keys and glasses out of her mobility scooter's basket when she had left it for a moment in the Kings Holiday Park in Canvey at around 10.50am on Thursday.
The man, described as white, in his early 40s, 5ft 10ins tall, of medium build with short greying curly hair and wearing a beige jacket and brown trousers, got into a green Vauxhall Corsa with distinctive white 'go faster' stripes on the bonnet.
There was a woman in the passenger seat and they drove off out of the park at great speed.
PC Lewis Gordon, who is investigating, said: "The woman was left very distressed and I hope someone will give me information to identify the man, or knows who owns the distinctive car, so we can catch him."
Anyone with information should contact PC Gordon at Rayleigh on 101, or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
