A FITNESS instructor is set to transform an empty industrial unit into a new dance and fitness studio on Canvey.
Kim Woolf, 49, has snapped up a vacant unit at Tavistock House, in Charfleets Road, and hopes to have the new studio open early next month where she will teach zumba, yoga, bootcamp, street dance and spinning classes.
Four new jobs will be created as part of the venture, one full time and three part time, and Kim was given planning permission this week to change the use of the building so she can run the classes.
Mrs Woolf, who has lived on Canvey all her life and already teaches classes on the island, said she spent the last few months looking for the perfect location for her new venture.
She said: “I feel elated. It’s been a long, hard slog to get planning permission, but hopefully it will be worth all the hard work.
“I’ve got good people who want to come and work with me and a good team behind me.
“Everything will be under one roof and I feel it’s a really positive thing for the community.”
