Hundreds of workers from across the region traded their wheels for trainers in a race around a mountain bike track.
The second Havens’ Hospices Corporate Team Challenge took place yesterday (oct 11) at the Hadleigh Olympic Mountain Biking Course.
Teams of at least two people from companies in Essex and London signed up to take part in this year’s fundraiser, set against the picturesque backdrop of Hadleigh Castle and the Thames Estuary.
Participants were encouraged to come in fancy dress, while the hardy competitors had a choice between a 3 km course or a 5km one.
There were awards for best indidivuals, best team, and best fancy dress.
The money will go into Havens’ two hospices, an adult centre in Westcliff and a children’s facility in Hadleigh.
