Three in court on burglary charges

THREE people accused of burglary and stealing a car will appear in court this morning.

The men were arrested just after 1.30am on Sunday after their car was stopped in London Road, Southend.

The vehicle, a silver Peugeot 407, is alleged to have been stolen from Canvey.

The men were arrested and will appear in court today to face various theft and motoring offences.

Joseph Davis, 45, from Crescent Avenue, was charged with being carried in a vehicle taken without the owner’s consent.

Anthony Crook, 23, from Fairham Avenue in South Ockendon, was charged with burglary, three counts of theft, driving while disqualified, taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent, failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis, driving without insurance and arranging to receive stolen goods.

Toni Edwards, a 21-year-old woman from Parker Road in Grays, was charged with being carried in a vehicle without the owner’s consent.

All three were remanded in police custody prior to their appearance at Southend Magistrates Court today.
