Glenwood special school gets firefighters' car wash cash

HADLEIGH firefighters have given Glenwood special needs school, in Benfleet, more than £800 they raised with a charity car wash.

The firefighters visited the school yesterday. Sub-officer David Still, 32, said: “We must have washed 300 cars on the day.

“People paid as much or as little as they wanted for each car. Some teachers from Glenwood even came down and helped us out. One of our firefighters has a child at the school, so it has a special place in our hearts.”
