1:00pm Tuesday 7th February 2012 in Castle Point
TORY councillors are urging residents to make their views heard on a new development strategy for Castle Point.
Castle Point Council is in the process of developing a new local development framework, which will set out the council’s development plans for the next 15 years.
The original document was scrapped in September after public opposition.
Councillors are encouraging as many people as possible to attend one of the 12 remaining consultation meetings set up by the council to voice their opinions on where homes should be built in the borough.
Andrew Sheldon, Conservative councillor for St Mary’s ward, said: “Every resident has an interest in the future of Benfleet.
“It is important every resident puts their views down and gets them in.”
There are two consultation events scheduled this week.
The first is at 10am tomorrow at the council offices, in Kiln Road, Thundersley.
The second starts at 7.30pm on Wednesday at Richmond Hall, in High Road, Benfleet.

It seems to me that despite clearly most residents do not want building on green belt, do not want blocks of flats but generally don't mind building HOUSES and at a reasonable number like in areas like Canvey Supply at The Point Canvey even if all the Councillors are against it somehow time and time again plans are submitted to do the opposite. Persimmon for example on Canvey, Jotman's Lane in Benfleet and 120 plus flats on Canvey Supply.
upset, you really are a moaning old bore.
If you read the comments you might find they reflect what people think of the 'tory' councillors as they are the ones in the photo.
for what its worth I agree with Pharro's comment with all this being a lip service exercise so the council can say well we did ask the public but they didn't respond

Can anyone tell me when the residents views were reflected by the resultant outcome of a consultation with this Council?
