A TALENTED schoolboy will sing for music mogul Simon Cowell, as he has made it through to the TV auditions of ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent.
George Redwood, who turns 15 today, and goes to the Appleton School, in Benfleet, will be singing his heart out at the auditions in two weeks’ time.
George, who has had no formal vocal training, will be performing his rendition of Adele’s Don’t You Remember Me in front of Cowell, Amanda Holden, and the two new judges, comedian David Walliams and singer Alesha Dixon. The auditions will be shown on ITV in April.
George said: “I’m really excited but nervous at the thought of performing in front of a large audience and the panel of judges.
“My mum took the phone call saying I had got through, but I had to ring the number back because I was so shocked.
“I just cannot believe it.”
This comes after George managed to get through to the semi finals of the Open Mic UK competition last year, the biggest music competition in the UK for singers, songwriters, rappers and solo artists.
He was also one of 20 finalists specially selected from the Essex Got Talent competition to compete in The Ultimate Finalist Competition last month.
Karen Kerridge, headteacher at Appleton, said: “George is a very talented singer and the school is proud of his achievements. I am delighted to hear George has won through to the live auditions stage of the competition and everyone at the Appleton School wishes him luck in the auditions and looks forward to him becoming a national star.”
George will perform at the auditions, in Birmingham, on February 17, 18 and 19.

Personally, I am a bit disappointed that most of the freaks that appear on this show have been "auditioned". I thought any old Tom, Dick or Harry could pitch up and murder a song in front of Simon Cowell.
I would hate to see some of the ones that don't get through!
