Hadleigh and Daws Heath residents invited to green belt meeting

A SPECIAL Hadleigh and Daws Heath Neighbourhood Meeting is being organised to give residents a chance to have their say on where thousands of new homes should be built across Castle Point.

The session start at 7.30pm at Hadleigh Old Fire Station, London Road, Hadleigh, on Wednesday, February 29.

The council is holding a series of neighbourhood meetings across the borough to encourage members of the public to come forward with ideas for brown field sites, which have already been built on but could be redeveloped for housing.

This is to reduce pressure on green belt land as the council moves ahead with trying to create a new local plan for Castle Point, which will set out a development strategy for the borough over the next 15 years.

The council was forced to drop its previous long-term development plan last September, because of complaints there had not been enough public consulation and too many homes were proposed on green belt.

they'll take about as much notice of that as they would the extra smell a small trump would make next to an open sewer.

That comment for use as a comparison is really quite good. 8/10

Will representatives of the water companies, railways, and highways agency be present, to explain to us how they will cope with all the extra people.

Got to have somewhere to house all the people who will no longer be able to afford to live in London, but who will have to have easy access to get there to do their work.

Your suggestion is a tad late, seems a few builders have already thought of that, 200 new dwellings in the last 2 years and thats just for starters!! At least a 1000 + by the end of next year..

I take you're in the Building Trade my friend and Don't live in Benfleet.
You are the only person I have come across to date with this view.
Even the kids want to keep our open spaces.

If you're a resident of Castle Point, you're entitled to your opionion, (Misinformed though it may be) If not then go build your houses somewhere else! We have enough long term empty properties to provide a five year supply without building any more.
