Quick thinking helps man trapped under forklift

A MAN had a lucky escape thanks to the quick thinking of his colleagues after a forklift fell on him in Canvey this morning.

At about 1.50pm, the male became trapped under the machinery at the yard of Canvey Skip Hire, in Vikings Way, during an accident on site.

However, before firefighters could arrive on the scene, other people working in the yard pulled together to help try and pull the forklift off the body of the trapped man using metal chains.

The male was left with a dislocated shoulder, but was home within hours of the accident.
