39-year-old died in a house near V Festival site

A MAN from Rayleigh has been found murdered at a house in Chelmsford.

The 39-year-old, who has not been named by police, was found in a house off the A414 London Road in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The house is just a stones throw from the V Festival site at Hylands Park and it is believed a house party was taking place at the time of the death.

Police said on Sunday night they did not believe the party was linked to V Festival.

Ten men aged between 25 and 35, all from Essex, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remained in police custody on Sunday.

A post mortem examination found the man died of head injuries and an inquest will shortly be opened.
