Duddridge buys books on poverty and digital camera


BOOKS on poverty and a digital camera are among items claimed by James Duddridge.

Under incidental expenses, the Tory member for Rochford and Southend East claimed £25 for three books from the Amazon website. He also claimed £236 for camera equipment, including a Sony model, costing £136.

Mr Duddridge claimed £249 for an in-car hands-free kit from a shop in Thorpe Bay, but has not made any claims under petty cash.

He claimed £37,715 for services from two Parliamentary support services for MPs.

There were seven claims for office, research or secretarial support in the past three years, ranging between £1,468, shortly after being elected in 2005, up to £9,635.

A total of £2,215 for use of the Conservative association in Southchurch Road was put on his expenses during his first years as an MP in 2005/06. He claimed £235 for publicity photos.

Mr Duddridge was unavailable for comment.

That comment made me laugh out loud !

These mega-parasites
(mps')expect us, the taxpayer to pay for their whole lives!

Anyone else works, picks up a wage, pays their bills, buy their own grub, their own "luxury items" their own everyday items etc. etc.

These people who think that they have such exalted positions in society, that they can get away with anything as long as it's "within the rules" get paid thousands in wages and then, not satisfied with that gleefully rub their hands, thinking "what I can spend my allowance on next"?

It must be so tough for them trying to decide what extravagant item is their next "must have" and trying to remember not to spend any of their own money to get it !
