Children upbeat for annual dancing extravaganza

SEQUINS and sparkles replaced geography and maths as pupils at two Leigh schools warmed up for their annual dance spectacular.

Pupils from West Leigh Junior School travelled to Belfairs High School to put the finishing touches to the show, which features everything from tap to ballet and ballroom to street dance.

The youngsters will be performing 17 routines as part of the show, with performances on Wednesday and Thursday night in Belfairs’ main hall.

Jan Andrews, community projects co-ordinator at Belfairs, said: “This is a major event for both schools, and it encompasses all sorts of dance.

“It’s a great deal of fun, and everybody has a wonderful time.

“Preparations have been going on for at least six months, and rehearsals have been intense. It should be a fantastic show.”
