A TALENTED schoolboy who has shared a stage with some of the biggest names in showbiz has won another ten-week run in a West End play.
Belfairs High School pupil, George Sear, last year played the part of the boy in Samuel Beckett’s famous play, Waiting for Godot at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane.
He has performed alongside acting legends Sir Ian McKellen and Sir Patrick Stewart.
The theatre now wants him back for a ten-week run until April.
George said: “I’m really looking forward to getting back on stage. I’ve started rehearsals already and met Roger Rees and Matthew Kelly who are taking over from Patrick and Simon Callow.”
George has also had a part in two episodes of ITV drama the Bill and is the latest prodigy of Westcliff agent Sandra Singer to hit the big time.
He added: “When I got the role in the Bill I couldn’t believe it. There were lots of other boys auditioning and when Sandie told me I’d got the part I didn’t believe it at first.”
He has been on Sandra Singer’s books since he was four.
She said: “George is a delight to have both as a student and client. He is a very dedicated student.
“He has a great maturity as a young client towards work, especially in this business. Although he has had some amazing jobs in the last year, George takes it all in his stride and it is to his credit that he hardly ever discusses them. He is future star.”
George is also very keen on art and breakdancing, off curriculum, and says Sir Patrick Stewart has taught him to play backgammon.
