Why are the police so interested in something as minor as this?

Horace Wimpole - It's because they dont have a choice, anything that gets reported has to be investigated sadly!

Was it really necessary for the woman to involve the police in something thats never going to get solved? It's an egg for petes sake...

Why did this make the news? Isn’t this a daily occurrence? New drivers who are still 17 love to do this! Seen it so many times!

Peculiar; over the years I've reported a few things that the police have never followed up on:

- Car accidents where one driver left the scene (3)

- Breaking and entering (twice)

- A fight between two men in the street with a child involved

Good to hear they now investigate *everything*...

I am glad the police are looking into this, as it is not a one off incident. It has been going on for at least 6 months on a regular basis. An egg thrown from a moving car will hurt and it will leave a bruise, not to mention possibly ruining clothing especially suede. Car windscreens (whilst the car is in motion) have also been targets which is particularly dangerous as it will temporarily obscure the drivers vision. This is not a trivial matter as people are getting very angry.
