Charity shop searching for owner of misplaced cash

CHARITY shop staff are trying to locate the owner of a large sum of money accidentally left in a donation bag.

The discovery was made at the Sue Ryder store on the Broadway in Leigh after the bag of items was handed in last week, with the cash tucked inside.

Manager Linda Bryan said: “There is no way it could have been a donation because of the amount there was.

“I am so concerned that it is some single mum who hid the money away for safe keeping, especially as we are coming up to christmas.”

She is keen to track down the owner, and urges them to visit the store or contact her on 01702 476 893, stating how much money there is and what was in the bag of donations.
