Five-year-old boy hit by car in Eastwood

A five-year-old boy was taken to hospital after he was hit by a car.

The youngster received minor injuries after he was struck in Rayleigh Road, Eastwood at 12.42pm today.

Ambulance spokesman Gary Sanderson said: "A boy who we believe to be five-years-old received slight injuries and following treatment at the scene by the ambulance crew, he was taken to Southend Hospital for further care."

I bet they will blame the driver even if it were not his fault. And then we will get the campain for another crossing or speed humps.

I do hope the young lad is fine though.

True, was the young lad on a crossing or was it one of these parents who can't be botherd to walk 50 yards to a crossing "to save there little darlings legs" I have three children I always go to a crossing (if one available) . I hope both the boy & driver are ok.

That poor driver what he must be going through, ie Police going all over his car checking him out seeing if they can nick him. feel sorry for the kid but where are the parents they should be checked out and nicked

If the kid was holding one of his parents hands, how come the parent did not get knocked over?

Says it all!

Drivers are not always to blame and every parent should be be ensuring that little children hold their hands near roads!
