Hot Yoga coming to Leigh
5:40pm Tuesday 10th July 2012 in News
THE humid conditions of India will come to Leigh when a furniture shop is converted into a Hot Yoga school.
Southend Council has given plans to transform the former Steven Thorne interior design and furniture shop on London Road, Leigh, into a Hot Yoga training centre.
Specialist instructors will teach customers the art of Birkram Yoga, which originated in southend India, in artificial hot and humid conditions to help increase flexibility in poses.
The new centre will also include changing facilities and a small shop area selling yoga-related products.
Owner Tracey Bailey, from Southend, currently runs exercise classes at Southend Tennis and Leisure Centre at Garons Park but has now decided to start her own business.
Regular yoga sessions are believed to help reduce stress, improve flexibility and strength, improve concentration and regulate breathing.
