Body found on Two Tree Island Leigh thought to be missing man

POLICE say the body of a man found on Two Tree Island could be someone who jumped from the Dartford Crossing.

Officers first received a call on Saturday, July 14 at 9pm following concerns for the welfare of a man in his 30s from the South Woodham Ferrers area.

About 30 minutes later, officers were contacted by staff at the Dartford Crossing reporting an abandoned car on the bridge.

CCTV had captured a man jumping off the bridge.

Police are investigating whether the body found in Leigh yesterday afternoon is the same man.

Detectives are not in a position to confirm his identity for a number of days but they have notified the family.

The beauty spot was cordoned off at noon yesterday after the body was found in the water.

Thames Coastguard were called in and helped police remove the body.

Have some respect please!

If the body is the missing man at least his family can have some peace.

It was inappropriate - but it did make me laugh!

The question has to be asked though, how did he get up on the Dartford crossing, unless drove and stopped a car up there...?

I quote from above article
'officers were contacted by staff at the Dartford Crossing reporting an abandoned car on the bridge.'

Potentially the car that was abandoned on the bridge, per the article.....

It is of course the fault of the poor journalism which brought on my poorly judged humour:

"POLICE say the body of a man found on Two Tree Island could be someone who jumped from the Dartford Crossing"

Sorry everyone

Ah yes I see that now - I read the article when it was first put up, and it made no mention of an abandoned car. Afterward I just read the comments...

Oh don’t worry about all that, some people are just so stiff! As long as you don’t mean it you should be able to say absolutely anything! Political correctness is one of the things that makes the modern world so boring! Be laid back, say what u want, don’t be offended by others, have a fun life! Way it should be!

Yes well R85 you are obviously not someone who gets easily offended (which is usually on behalf of others who in fact may not actually be offended). I love the humour that happens on here sometimes but it often comes at a price.

I've just had Mincer (E-Types) on the phone having managed to extract his head from his anal passage and he agrees with you.

Unfortunately it's something you get on virtually every Internet forum.

People who take it upon themselves to tell everyone else what they should, or shouldn't be thinking.

Taking the moral high ground, or trying to anyway.

The part of this thread that is most humorous to me is the fact that half of the people telling the yellow peril it's an inappropriate comment were on here a few backs making jokes judgements and nasty comments about the two lads shot on the pikey farm!! Glass houses people.....

And he only said what most of us were thinking!!
