Teen left with broken jaw after Rayleigh attack

A TEENAGER has been left with a broken jaw after a brutal assault following a birthday party.

Detectives are investigating the attack in Broad Oak Way, Rayleigh, about 12.45am today.

The 18-year-old man, from Southchurch, had been at a birthday party at a house in the road.

The assault is believed to have taken place outside the address.

He has been sent to Broomfield Hospital near Chelmsford for specialist surgery on his jaw.

Because of his injury, police have been unable to get the full details of what happened.

They are appealing for anyone who was at the party or with any information to call Southend police on 0300 3334444, and ask for DC Julie Shadbolt.

The Family are low lifes for holding a birthday party?? It would appear that the only low life would be you for making small minded comments like that when you dont even know the family involved. Obviously you have never been to a party past 12.30am maybe you was tucked up in bed a with nice cup of coco at that sort of time, bless your little cotton socks.

I really used to love the Jawbreaker sweets you used to be able to buy.
.
Does anyone know where I can buy Jawbreakers from these days?
.
Who still stocks them. I used to love the ice cream flavoured ones the best, and I loved the little stickers you used to get in the packs.
.
So if anyone knows whre I can buy jawbreakers, then please let mem know.

I have only lived in rayleigh 12 years but it has changed dramatically in that time.
There used to be hardly any crime but now it's practically lawless as the police don't like to venture out of their station in the high road after dark
This incident is typical of the place now. The high street has become almost a no-go area on Friday nights and over the weekend as gangs of kids, I say kids because most are aged between 10 and 15, roam the streets causing as much trouble as they can.
When any are caught their parents should be made to pay dearly. They should have their homes repossessed and they should lose their jobs.
See how much they love their little darlings then!

Another crap low life family? I'll have you know that is my family you are broadcasting about on the internert and they certainly are not what you said. You do not know us and therefore have no right to judge this incident as you was not there. Yes it was my party, and it was defiantly not out of hand, my parents where present and kept everything under control. The boy that caused the fight was not even invited and had been chucked out several times that evening. As soon as it happened my parents rushed out to help him to see how bad the damage was. At that time no one knew who did it so the police was not called, instead an ambulance was rung to get the boy to safety. My parents broke it up quickly and put him in the ambulance. No neigbours were disturbed as there was little noise and i had all informed them about the party all of which was fine about it. I have lived at my house for ten years and this is the first house party we have ever had. Before you judge my parents and post rude comments about them on the internet get your facts right.

I dont know why people are going on about feeling sorry for the nighbours, i actually am a neighbour and i didnt even realise that anything was going on or that anything was happening so i really cant see how this was a disturbance especially as its not like they are having parties all the time!
