A TEENAGER has won a £4million payout from Rochford Hospital.
The girl was left with quadriplegic cerebral palsy and confined to a wheelchair following difficulties with her birth at the hospital in September 1992.
At a High Court hearing the girl, through her mother, sued Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust -who today agreed to a settlement of her case valued at around £4m.
The 17-year-old, who cannot be identified, will need a lifetime of care and assistance after her brain was starved of oxygen in the minutes before her traumatic birth.
