Car crashes into Rochford pub

A CAR has smashed into the front of a pub.

The Ford Mondeo was involved in an accident in Southend Road, Rochford, and crashed into the Horse and Groom, leaving the building damaged.

Firefighters, police and ambulance were called to the scene just after 10am this morning.

No-one is thought to have been seriously injured and the pub was closed at the time.

The pub is quite well set back from the road - one wonders what sequence of events could have led to this.

Maybe they were speeding round the corner, saw a pedestrian and swerved to avoid them....such was the speed they were doing they ended up crashing in to the pub.

I feel sorry for the Horse and Groom at the moment. First the flood, now this!... Good pub, with a good selection of Beers..... (other Public Houses are available)

i know the poor people who was in the car, app someone hit them from behind, forcing them into the pub, there was 5 people in the car including 2 children, they was all very lucky to just walk away with bruises and scratches!
