£120,000 of children's toys stolen from Hockley warehouse

THIEVES stole £120,000 of children’s computers in an overnight burglary.

Crooks forced their way into a warehouse on Eldon Way industrial estate, Hockley, and took the LeapFrog products which are made for young children.

Officers on a routine patrol in the area noticed the shutter to QATC Europe’s building was open. They made enquiries and found the owners of the premises.

A white Volkswagen van is believed to have been used in the raid and police are appealing to the public to help them trace the culprits.

The burglars struck during the evening on Saturday, January 7. Police discovered the break in at 1am on Sunday, January 8.

Anyone with information in connection with this burglary is urged to contact investigating officers at Rayleigh police station on 101.

At least we won't be hearing about how terrible it is that such a thing should happen in the run up to Christmas.
