The only way is Rayleigh for Towie’s new wine bar

A TOWIE star and his businessman brother-in-law are hoping the only way is Rayleigh when they open a new wine bar in the town.

Danny Salmon, 41, is joining Ricky Rayment, 21, who appears in the reality TV show the Only Way is Essex, in opening the new venue.

Ricky is dating Jessica Wright who also features in the ITV2 show.

Called Bar Blanco, it will replace the Home Furniture Boutique shop in Eastwood Road after a transformation expected to cost up to £400,000.

The bar will be open before the end of the year.

Danny, from Hockley, said the idea struck him when he struggled to find somewhere to go for a drink in town before a meal.

He said: “A few months ago my wife and I went out for a meal in Rayleigh, but wanted to go for a drink first. “We have done a lot of research and it seems to be something that is wanted. I think it is going to be popular. I have run bars and pubs before, my parents were publicans.”

The Towie crew were filming at the newly-opened Linx nightclub in Rayleigh High Street, yesterday.

Danny says their wine bar is expected to bring some of the show’s glamourous stars into Rayleigh regularly. He added: “A couple of local people in the show have said they will be in there quite a bit.

“We are hoping it will bring a lot of business to the local area.”

Danny said there would be a Challenge 25 door policy and they would sign up to the area’s Pubwatch scheme which holds regular meetings to discuss issues in the area.
