A TEENAGER from Essex is fighting for his life after suffering serious head injuries in a crash.

The 18-year-old man was put into a medically induced coma by Great Western Air Ambulance critical care doctors after being found unconscious behind the wheel of his green VW Golf at around 10.45am on Tuesday.

The car was travelling along the A429 in Kemble, Gloucestershire before veering off the road and crashing into a tree.

It then rolled onto its roof, trapping the man upside down inside.

Fire crews had to cut him free before paramedics from two air ambulance teams battled to keep him in a stable condition after he suffered life-threatening head injuries.

The man was taken by Wiltshire Air Ambulance to Bristol’s Frenchay Hospital which is the major trauma unit for the region.
