A UNIQUE collection of Steiff teddy bears has been sold for almost £96,000 Musician Jena Pang, from Southend, put 32 bears, part of his 250-bear collection, up for sale when he decided to relocate to Hong Kong.

The collection of antique Steiff teddy bears and animals was sold by Special Auction Services in Newbury for £95,827.

Mr Pang: “The teddy bear auction was exciting. There were bidders from all over the world on the telephone and via the internet. I wish all my bears that sold a happy new life in a loving home.”

Auctioneer Daniel Agnew said: “This is an outstanding result. Finding new homes for Mr Pang’s beautiful Teddy Bears has been a real privilege and I am pleased to say every bear has gone to a good home.

“I was particularly delighted with the result of Julie, a 26cm high bear that sold for £5,192 – a big price for a small bear!”
