ONLY 20 people turned up to auditions for Britain’s Got Talent in Rayleigh.
Simon Cowell sent his production team to Masters Performing Arts College in Rayleigh on Friday to stage auditions for next year’s series.
But contestants were left waiting 30 minutes.
One passer-by, who did not wish to be named, said: “It was a shambles. People had given up their time to be there and the producer was 30 minutes late.”
Nicola Drabble, from the college, had been contacted by producers last week. She said: “It is a shame, had we had more notice and were it not on a Friday afternoon we would have had more contestants.”
Potential acts tried to wow the judge with musical performances including a man dressed up as Superman playing the harmonica, a woman in a horse costume and a young girl playing guitar.
