A dispute over a game of pool at a pub in Leigh resulted in a victim suffering a suspected broken jaw.

Police want to hear from anyone who was in the Oakwood pub, in Rayleigh Road, last Sunday.

The incident happened at about 8.40pm, while the two victims were playing pool.

Two children had tried to get involved with their game, but were told not to interfere.

Two men then approached the pool players and assaulted them, leaving the pub before police arrived.

One of the victims suffered a suspected broken jaw and thumb, while the other had cuts and bruises.

Both victims, men in their early 50s, needed hospital treatment.

The first suspect is described as white, in his mid-to-late 20s, of medium build with very short brown hair, wearing a dark blue polo shirt, jeans and a black coat.

The second suspect is white, in his mid-to-late 20s and also of medium build.

He was wearing dark jeans and t-shirt.
