POLICE have appealed for help to trace a mobility scooter rider after a serious collision in Southend.
A pedestrian aged in her 60s suffered serious leg injuries in the incident at Southend bus station in Heygate Avenue at about 4pm on Tuesday, April 7.
Officers are investigating reports that the scooter driver apparently lost control after driving over a pedestrian crossing and on to the pavement.
The pedestrian, who is from Southend, was taken to hospital and later had plastic surgery on her injuries. She is still receiving medical treatment.
The scooter rider was a white man, believed to be in his 70s. He was wearing glasses, a brown cloth cap and a brown jacket. He left the scene without leaving contact details.
