SOUTHEND Airport looks to grow as funding is on the radar and an event next week will discuss future plans for the airport and the accomplishments from grants so far.

A number of influential speakers are lined up for the next Southend Business Partnership briefing that will take place next Thursday, June,18, at the Airport Conference Centre at London Southend Airport from 7.30am.

Businesses will hear the latest Borough news from Rob Tinlin, Chief Executive of the Council, with Jon Horne, recently appointed Managing Director of LSA as the keynote speaker where Jon will outline his plans for the airport’s continued growth.

The event will also showcase the accomplishments that local businesses have been able to achieve over the last year thanks to the Business Southend South Essex Growth Grant, along with sharing further funding opportunities still available to businesses.

Garry Lowen from the Gleneagles Guesthouse and Kyle Stoneham from Brand Identity will share their experiences of the grants they have received from Business Southend, and how this will help support their business growth in the future.

Cllr Graham Longley, Executive Councillor for Enterprise, Tourism and Economic Development, says: “Following being named the fastest growing airport in Europe, along with the recent opening of a brand new £10m terminal extension, the airport is a great venue for our next briefing.

“Jon Horne will be talking about his future plans for the airport and also about how the Business Southend grants have made such a difference to such a variety of local businesses. I would urge local businesses to attend.”
