A ROAD was partially blocked in Westcliff following a car fire.
An electrical fault is believed to have sparked the fire at about 11am which destroyed a silver Mercedes C220 and caused damage to parked vehicles in Westbourne Grove, including a yellow Vauxhall Agila with an elderly disabled man inside.
The man was discharged by paramedics at the scene but the driver of the Mercedes was taken to Southend Hospital after suffering smoke inhalation and shock.
The burnt-out cars were winched onto a recovery truck shortly before 1pm.
