Thats fine, I guess I can cut the amount of council tax that goes to the police by one seventh. Suits me.

Why Friday? Surely a Monday or Tuesday is likely to be quieter than a Friday?
Maybe it's a cunning plan to lull crims into a false sense of security on Friday, and then pounce on Shoebury and round up all the 'ne'er do wells'.

By far the majority of shoebury is covered from Southend Police Station by the NPT response teams. Only PCSO's and NBO's work from shoebury and they will still be there - only the FRONT OFFICE is closing.
SO in actual fact the policing level of SHoebury will remain the same. The only reduction in staff will be one front office staff member - i think, just maybe, shoebury will cope with this.
How about you lot get the facts right before making such sweeping and illjudged comment?

Sorry mate but Essex Police have a history of shutting police Stations for one day, then at weekends finally closing them to the public.

Then suddenly they are opened again after the crime rate increases, the opening of the Police Station is greeted in the press by a smiling new 'Look what I have done' Chief Inspector (more interested in promotion than the crime rate)

i.e Pitsea, Hadleigh, Eastwood, Benfleet, Canvey ALL have done the 'open and shut' fiasco.

A Police Station is either open or shut it should NEVER have a certain day shut that is the policy of an idiotic new Senior 'I will change things' Officer.

You should be carefull soul man, Canvey Island (or should I say Clap Island) is below sea level, and is more closer to to crap that flows down the Thames. The only thing wrong with Shoebury is the lack of a decent main road to the rest of the UK.

Pretty rich, coming from one as rabidly right-wing as you appear to be.

Thank you recognition at last.

It takes one to know one as they say?

Especially if you do live in the rich man's road
